Kacey enjoys creating illustrated cross-sections of popular films. She obsessively dissects the spaces within the films and invites the viewer to peer behind walls, underwater, and underground throughout her various cutaways.

“I decided to do an illustrated cross-section of the classic summer film, “The Sandlot.” I love treehouses and that film, so it felt like a win-win to take a closer look into the characters, spaces, and scenes within the movie. When I do ‘cutaways’ of films, I enjoy the process of watching the movies, carefully dissecting and piecing back together the spaces, while planting easter eggs for the viewer to find. I invite the viewer to stay awhile and peer behind the treehouse wall and neighboring fence, immersing themselves in the environment and story of the film.”
